Important Update Regarding the RQ Event in Doha

In light of the extremely difficult and unstable situation in the Persian Gulf, we at Hippo have, with deep regret, decided to cancel the RQ event scheduled to take place in Doha.

It is with a heavy heart that we make this decision. Our thoughts and hopes are with all those affected — not only in Qatar, which has been indirectly involved, but also across all nations currently enduring conflict. It was simply impossible for us to proceed with welcoming you and your families to a region where the situation is so unstable.

As a way of showing our appreciation for your understanding and to minimize the inconvenience caused, we are inviting all the students previously invited to the Doha RQ to participate in the RQ event to be held in Da Nang, Vietnam, from July 4th to 6th. To help compensate for this unexpected change, Hippo will gladly cover the hotel accommodation for each student and one accompanying person.

Participants will only need to cover travel expenses and a participation fee of €120 for the student and €50 for the accompanying parent or guardian. Those who have already paid more than these amounts, or who choose not to participate, will be reimbursed either the difference or the full amount, depending on their decision.

Students who qualified for the RQ in Doha but did not register due to the circumstances, and who now wish to participate in the RQ in Da Nang, only need to pay the participation fees for both the student and the accompanying person. When registering, they should indicate in the notes whether they require hotel accommodation (at no additional cost).

We truly hope that those students who are willing and able to travel will join us in Da Nang — a destination that, under these challenging circumstances, we believe offers a much safer environment.

More than anything, we hope to see each and every one of our students in person at one of our events soon, as this is, above all, the main purpose of our work.
